About Fremont

Fremont, also known as “The Center of the Universe” is renowned as one of Seattle’s more artistically eccentric communities.  It is located at the north end of Lake Union and runs along the Lake Washington Ship Canal.  Fremont real estate ranges from modern townhouses and condos to classic early 20th century bungalows and farmhouses, but is generally quite dense and becoming more so.

Entering through the Fremont drawbridge, which opens and closes more than any other bridge in the world, you can easily spend hours brunching and browsing in Fremont’s fun and unusual shops, or treasure-hunting the many emporiums of vintage clothing, collectibles and antiques.  Gasworks Park boasts views of Lake Union and the downtown Seattle skyline.  On summer weekends, people from all over flock to see their favorite cult and classic movies on the big screens of Seattle’s only walk-in outdoor movies.

Underneath the nearby Aurora Bridge you’ll find the famous Fremont Troll.   On Sundays, The Fremont Fair brings in artisans and farmers from all over the state, who gather to sell fresh produce and arts and crafts.  For food and drink you can enjoy the European style pubs, several celebrated local micro-breweries, quaint bistros and coffee houses, or the many ethnic restaurants.  Fremont is also host to the annual Summer Solstice Parade, a high-color event that includes nude cyclists, belly dancers and an unforgettable parade.
